This work is made up of four movements, Parachutes, Poppy Seeds, Pocket Book, and Parliament. I focus on exploring the timbral range of the trombone, using techniques and ensemble interactions

that are not commonly found in standard repertoire.

Each movement loosely reflects a different aspect of global political life. Parachutes references war and conflict, Poppy Seeds points toward drug trade and pharmaceutical policies, and Pocket Book

alludes to money, corporate influence, and lobbying. These ideas are suggested through sound and texture rather than through any literal narrative.

The final movement, Parliament, brings material from the earlier movements together, allowing them to interact and overlap. In this way, the piece reflects how these forces influence one another and

shape larger political outcomes.
